Two ways to take us on
Pick whichever suits how you run the job and your cash flow.
Operated Plant Hire
A flat day rate for the digger and a skilled operator — a drainage groundworker by trade, not just a machine driver. You supply the materials, so there's no material cost in it: just the machine and 20 years on the levers for the day.
Fixed-Price Contract
A lump sum for a defined scope of work. We manage the plant hire, materials and any extra crew, and you know the number up front — ideal when you'd rather hand the whole groundworks stage over.
What you get every time
Your following trades — bricklayers, concrete trucks, utility surveyors — never wait on us. We read the drawings and set the falls without tying up your site manager, arrive on the day agreed, and leave a swept, structured, safe trench or sub-base your team can step straight onto.

CIS Ready
Registered CIS subcontractor with a UTR ready to verify. Deduct tax at source on labour and pay plant and materials in full.
Insured to Trade
£5m public liability cover, naming mechanical excavation, deep drainage trenching and highway/street works. Certificate on request.
RAMS Provided
Project-specific Risk Assessments & Method Statements for your health & safety site folder, provided on request.

Groundworks for Builders — FAQs
Will you dig to our architect's or engineer's drawings?
Yes. Footings and trenches are set out and dug to your drawings, to the right line, depth and falls, ready for the next stage.
Do you take the spoil away?
Yes. Muck-away and site clearance are part of the job. We leave the site clean and level, not full of spoil for your lads to work around.
Day rate or fixed price?
Whichever suits you. Take the machine and operator by the day, or get a fixed price for a defined job such as a footing dig or a driveway rip-out.
Can you just do the dig-out and leave us to finish?
Yes. Plenty of landscapers and builders hand over just the excavation, drainage and sub-base and lay the final surface themselves. That's exactly the kind of work we're set up for.
Are you insured?
Yes — £5m public liability, naming mechanical excavation, deep drainage trenching and highway/street works. We're NRSWA street-works trained and CSCS carded, with the certificate on request.
